In order to improve the quality of life, build a culture of giving and encourage positive change in our community, LCF has decided to support four focus areas:

  • CONNECT the community through events, concerts, public art, historical preservation, etc.

  • PROVIDE human services through LEAF and its programming

  • INVEST in our youth through extracurricular activities at our schools

  • SUPPORT local ecology initiatives like the Lyons Food Forest or Weed Identification Booklets

Support the Lyons Community Foundation Scholarship Fund

By supporting the Lyons Community Foundation Scholarship Fund, you are providing graduating high school students access to higher education. Every year, LCF awards a scholarship between $500 and $2,000 each to six to eight students. Some scholarships were created in memory of a community member and are still funded by their family through this fund. Many scholarships are entirely funded by LCF's Scholarship Fund.

Become a Community Builder by Donating Monthly

Over the past ten years, Lyons has had to recover from a 1,000-year flood and a pandemic. We have also had some close calls with wildfires. As a community foundation, LCF has learned that recurring donations make it easier to support immediate local needs, prepare for future challenges and strengthen our work in the community. We call our monthly donors "Community Builders", because building a better community is at the very heart of our mission. For just $1/day or $30/month, you can help local projects get off the ground. At LCF, our monthly donors plant seeds that bloom all year long. Seeds like human services, community connectivity, youth investment and local ecology help grow our community into a bountiful garden of beautiful wildflowers.  Please consider becoming a monthly donor by clicking below and changing the donation frequency to monthly.
