Can you help us send 10 high school seniors to college next year?
Josie Wratten, Previous Chair of the Scholarship Committee would like to help more Seniors attend college. In the video above, she explains how she would like to see an increase in the number of scholarships LCF offers.
Since 2009, the Lyons Community Foundation has helped send 70 high school seniors to college. In the past, some local families have chosen to honor a deceased family member by offering a memorial scholarship in their name. These families participate in the creation of the scholarship and sometimes in the selection of the recipient. Families are also invited to present the scholarship to the recipient at Awards Night, typically held in May. LCF funds at least two scholarships from its scholarship fund. The LCF scholarship committee defines the criteria and selects the recipient for each scholarship. Community members are invited to join the LCF scholarship committee to review scholarships starting in April. Please contact the chair of the scholarship committee, Gwydion Winkelmeyer if you would like to participate in the review process. If you would like to create a scholarship and help a student achieve their dream of a college education, please fill out the form below. Cory Pierce the chair of the scholarship committee will reach out to you to finalize your criteria. Feel free to email LCF with any questions at info@lyonscf.org.
