Fall is here...

After a sociable summer full of weekly concerts and an end-of-summer bash, LCF is turning its focus to community support grants and our annual appeal. Fall is always a busy time of year at LCF as we finalize the number of grants to be awarded to local non-profit organizations.

Throwback to summer....the Sandstone Concert Series!

Thanks to your support, LCF was able to raise $5,479.51 for next year's concert series. What a great way to support local musicians while spending the evening with neighbors and friends.  

The Hootenanny was a Hootin' Success!

What a spectacular way to celebrate the end of summer! Two of Lyons' non-profit organizations, the Lyons Community Foundation (LCF) and the Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund (LEAF) came together for a second year in a row to organize a community event like no other. The Hootenanny is considered “quintessential Lyons” with live music, corn hole, dance, a duck race, a silent auction, food trucks, and a kid space, not to mention a well stocked bar. 

Thanks to local businesses and residents who stepped up with donations for the silent auction, companies who offered to sponsor the event and your participation, Lyons' second annual Hootenanny was a hootin’ success raising almost $33,000 that will be split evenly between LCF and LEAF. This event was made possible with the help of many volunteers including the Lyons Volunteers, the Lyons Leos, the Lyons firefighters, past and current board members and so many others. We thank you for coming out and sharing our love for this community. Thanks to Betsy Burton and Mike Whipp, the Hootenanny is on the calendar for the next five years. To quote Robyn Sloan, “Don’t you just love this town?"

Community Support Grants

These last few weeks, the LCF Community Support Grants committee has been busy reviewing seventeen grant requests. Thanks to donors like you, the LCF Advisory Board was recently able to increase the amount to be allocated to $50,000 this year for community projects...up from $35,000 last year.

Matching Grant Campaign

A generous supporter of LCF has offered to match every new donation we receive through October 31st, up to $10,000 total. So far, we have raised $6,700 toward our $10,000 goal. This means that we have about one month to raise another $3,300, and receive the full match.

Planet Bluegrass has offered to match an additional $10,000 dollars if we reach our initial goal of $10,000 by the end of October. Paired with the support from our anonymous donor, this brings our fundraising potential to $30,000 dollars! Together we can broaden our impact!

Dave Hatchimonji, aka Kim's husband, has been in Lyons for 12-13 years. He works for Boulder County's Sustainability Department. He also serves on the Town of Lyons Sustainable Futures Commission.

Suzanne Milani has lived in Lyons since 2015. Her background is in social work and elementary education. Suzanne wants to have an impact on people’s lives.
